Cancelling your Appointment

Please telephone as soon as possible if you have to cancel your appointment.

Appointments are often in short supply so please ring and let us know if you cannot attend so that we can offer the appointment to somebody else.

If the surgery is closed and you need to cancel an appointment for the following day please use the link at the bottom of the homepage

Missed Appointments

In August 224 appointments were missed by patients who failed to turn up and did not cancel their appointment in advance.

Dispensary Opening Hours

Monday - Friday 8.30am - 6.00pm

Any patient who lives more than one mile away from any pharmacy may have their prescription dispensed at the Riverside Surgery. Our dispensary is adjacent to the reception desk in the main waiting area.

Repeat Prescriptions

Patients who are on long term medication requiring regular repeat prescriptions can request these by:

completing and posting your repeat slip to the surgery
by fax on 01386 444400
following the link on this page to the online order form
contacting a local chemist
attending the surgery in person

All medication is authorised for repeat by your doctor who may occasionally wish to review your medication. Notice of this will be brought to your attention on your repeat prescription slip. Re-authorisation by your doctor requires 2 working days between request and collection.

Should you require your medication more urgently (less than 48 hours) you should come down to the surgery to make your request.

Free Delivery Service

Please note that we provide a free delivery service of medication to our dispensing patients. Please enquire for further information. Deliveries are made on a Wednesday and Friday morning. If you want your medication delivered please choose "Deliver Wednesday" or "Deliver Friday" from the choices on the prescription form when asked where you would like to collect your medication from.

Other Services

In addition to these services four fully qualified dispensing staff are available at all times to offer patients assistance, advice and to answer any queries regarding medication. They can also provide weekly prepared monitored dosage systems to aid patients by reducing confusion over the timing of tablet taking. If needed they can also do a "drug review" to help clarify any queries you have about prescribed medications.
