Please telephone as soon as possible if you have to cancel your appointment.

Appointments are often in short supply so please ring and let us know if you cannot attend so that we can offer the appointment to somebody else.

Our Family Planning Clinics are held on Wednesday evening 6pm to 8.30pm with one of the practice nurses and Dr Serenyi, or Dr Nederlof in attendance.

The Practice Nurses

Doctors may invite you to see a nurse for specific treatment.

The nurses are supported by two trained healthcare assistants (HCAs) who are able to take blood samples, do ECGs and blood pressure recordings. They also provide smoking cessation advice.

The Dispensary

Our team of dispensers are able to offer an range of services to all dispensing patients (patients who live more than one mile from the nearest pharmacy) including:

A "drug review" of prescribed medication to help identify and clarify any issues or questions you have about taking your medicines.
A free delivery service on Wednesday and Friday mornings.
The provision of weekly prepared monitored dosage of your medication to help reduce confusion over the timing and quantities of your prescription.

Our Healthcare Assistants are now running Smoking Cessation clinics in the surgery, on Wednesday evenings. To book an appointment please call the surgery on 01386 40121. The initial consultation will be 10 minutes and you will be given the option of coming to the surgery or having a phone call at a set time. After this assessment the Healthcare Assistant will book further appointments and develop your own personal plan to help you stop smoking.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required. There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below. Please check what you will need using this link before you contact us to make an appointment.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Most travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because travel vaccination is not included in the services provided by the NHS and therefore is a chargeable service.
